Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about blocked drains, CCTV surveys, drain lining, excavation work, pricing and callouts.

How much does drain unblocking cost?

Our simple unblock price is £75 for rods or plungers only. If the job requires jetting machines or specialist equipment, the price is £150. A CCTV inspection is included with every unblock where needed, and a formal CCTV report can be added for £80 + VAT.

Do you offer fixed prices?

Yes. We believe in straightforward pricing with no silly gimmicks. We clearly explain our charges and the most suitable option before carrying out the work.

Do you clear blocked toilets?

Yes. We clear blocked toilets, including downstairs toilet blockages and more stubborn issues where access may be needed through the soil vent pipe (SVP) or further along the system.

What is included with a CCTV drain survey?

A CCTV drain survey involves inspecting the inside of your drains using specialist camera equipment to identify defects such as cracks, collapses, root ingress, displaced joints and blockages. We also provide clear advice on any repair work that may be required.

How much does a CCTV drain survey cost?

Our domestic CCTV survey prices start from £260 + VAT for a 2-bed house, £320 + VAT for a 3-bed house, and £360 + VAT for properties up to 5 bedrooms. Larger houses and commercial sites are quoted separately. Drain mapping can be added for £90 + VAT.

Can drains be repaired without digging?

Yes. In many cases drains can be repaired internally using no-dig methods such as patch lining or full inversion lining. This allows us to create a new pipe inside the old one without major excavation.

What is drain tracing?

Drain tracing is used to locate the route of underground pipework. We use specialist tracing and locating equipment to help find drains, hidden chambers and the approximate position of defects or blockages.

Do you carry out excavation repairs?

Yes. Where a drain has collapsed or cannot be repaired internally, we carry out drainage excavations and pipe replacement. We also advise on whether excavation or lining is the most suitable option.

Do you install land drainage systems?

Yes. We install land drains, drainage trenches, soakaways and pumping systems to help reduce flooding, standing water and waterlogged ground.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. We work on both domestic and commercial drainage systems. Commercial work is quoted separately depending on the size of the site, access and the scope of work required.

Are you available 24/7?

Yes. Dave & Rob are available to take your call 24/7, and we will always do our best to help as quickly as possible.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover Stockport, Cheadle, Greater Manchester and surrounding areas. If you are unsure whether we cover your location, just give us a call.
