Drain Unblocking FAQs: Prices, Areas and Services

Our domestic unblocking prices are fixed: £75 + VAT for rods or a plunger, and £150 + VAT for jetting. You pay for the method that clears it, never both. If a blockage won’t clear, you pay only for the last method we tried, and we’ll explain your options. Fixed prices apply Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Evenings, weekends and bank holidays may cost more, and we’ll tell you the rate before we set off. No. There’s no call-out charge when we carry out the work. If we come out and can’t do any work at all, for example nobody’s in or the blockage has already cleared, there’s a minimum wasted-visit charge of £30 + VAT. We’ll mention it when you book.

Yes. Fixed prices, no surprises. Drain unblocking is a fixed £75 + VAT or £150 + VAT, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, however long the job takes, and we explain the charge and the best option before we start. Yes. Drain unblocking comes with a 12-month guarantee, and so do drain repairs (not including surface reinstatement), as long as the drainage isn’t misused or damaged.

Yes, we’re fully insured. We’re DBS checked too.

We put a specialist camera inside your drains to find defects such as cracks, collapses, root ingress, displaced joints and blockages, then give you clear advice on any repairs. See CCTV drain surveys.

A look-see survey with no report is £150 + VAT. A single-line survey with a written report, for answers about one particular drain, is £220 + VAT. Home buyer and seller surveys are £320 + VAT for up to 2 bedrooms and £360 + VAT for 3 to 5 bedrooms, and bigger properties are quoted on request. Drain mapping is £80 + VAT extra, usually only needed for extensions. Commercial surveys are quoted separately. If we’re unblocking your drain, a written CCTV report done at the time is £80 + VAT. Drain tracing finds the route of underground pipes, hidden chambers and the approximate position of defects. We use sonde tracing, often called sonar tracing. It costs from £250 + VAT, including mapping. See drain tracing.

Yes. We work on domestic and commercial drainage. Commercial work starts from £220 + VAT and is quoted depending on the size of the site, access and the work needed.

Yes. Businesses and landlords can have planned jetting, gully clears and CCTV checks on a regular schedule, so problems are caught before they cause a blockage. See drain maintenance agreements.
